Green Creek Fire Rescue was organized in 1964 as a Volunteer Fire Department to serve the community.

The first fire station was at the Green Creek School in the old agriculture building.  The Green Creek Ruitan Club helped to start the fire department.

In 1976

the new fire station was built on the corner of Green Creek Dr and NC Hwy 9 where it still sits today.  This station now serves as the headquarters of operations for Green Creek Fire Rescue.

In 1997

a substation was built on Chesnee Rd to help serve the southeastern area of our district.

in 2006

Green Creek Fire Department started providing Medical First Responder services to the community.

In 2008

Green Creek Fire Department also added a BLS or Basic Life Support ambulance to our fleet to better serve our citizens.

In 2015

We became Green Creek Fire Rescue.  We are progressing with the needs of a growing community to also provide more services related to rescue.

We currently have an ISO rating 6/9E.  Property owners within 5 road miles of either station are within the protection class of ISO 6.
